Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa is the third civilian Governor of Delta state since the inception of Democracy in 1999. He was sworn into office in May 29, 2015, alongside his running mate, Barrister Kingsley Otuaro.

Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa was born on the 8th Of July, 1959 at Owa-Alero in the present Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State. He had his early education at the Iroro primary school, Owa-Alero and later attended the famous Edo College, Benin City between 1970 and 1976. He graduated with the second best result in the Higher School Certificate Examination in the then Bendel State in 1976.He graduated from University of Ibadan in 1981 with MBBS, at the record age of 22. Practiced as a medical doctor for some years before becoming a seasoned politician.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration and policies are hinged on the SMART AGENDA, which has seen an emphasis on job creation, sound fiscal management, and efficient government operation. As Delta state’s number one salesman, Ifeanyi Okowa promotes Delta state as a great place to expand existing businesses and to locate new businesses. The last one year has seen Delta state enjoy strong economic growth and witness sustainable improvement in the agricultural sector as the Governor strives to wean the state off total dependence on oil and gas.

Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa displays highly developed craftsmanship in his approach to work and challenges and this is evident in his constructive leadership and in his growing political profile.
